Ray is the captain of the space shuttle SS Tigress. He has four children and a wife called Jean. Ray is a fairly laid back character. A fairly sociable cat who likes to share a drink or two with his friends. His affable nature enables him to get himself through most scrapes. Although he is liked by the rest of the crew, they do have to compensate for his reckless captaining. He has come close to crashing the shuttle on many occasions. He is semi oblivious to how much his crew is helping him out.

Jed is the navigator onboard the shuttle. Working on the shuttle has made Jed a somewhat neurotic robot. He is now partial to the odd tipple (often taken onboard in a flask, which he calls his medication). He lives with another robot called Bin.

Sue is the engineer aboard the SS Tigress. She is a talented officer (which is just as well with Ray as captian). Working onboard the shuttle means you either develop a sense of humour or become totally neurotic. Sue fits into the first category. She manages to compensate for Ray’s haplessness without being bitter about it.

Johnny is quite a shy kid. He is well natured and a bit of a dreamer. He is often falling head over heals in love, but can never manage to do anything about it. Face to face with the opposite sex he can’t even string a sentence together.
